Small, uniform cucumber, slightly ribbed. Dark green. Very resistant to several diseases.
Transplant when any risk of frost has passed. Be careful, make sure that the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius, otherwise the plants will be lost!
First of all, you have to prepare a soil that is well drained, light and rich in compost or manure. If space is large, make a mound and plant in the center to let the plants run on the ground. On the other hand, if space is limited, you can very well install them near a fence to allow them to cling to. You can tie them up to help them.
If cucumbers grow on a lattice leave 30cm (12”) between plants.
Water the cucumber well, then apply mulch to keep the moisture. Cucumbers do not like to bathe in water. Water frequently without leaving a puddle at the foot of the plant. Avoid wetting the foliage as much as possible to avoid fungal diseases.
Cucumbers can be grown in pots or planters, on a balcony or terrace, following these same tips.
Good companionships: corn, beets, carrots, peas and beans.
