‘Toy Choy’ Bok Choy
Bring out the best of this tender baby Pak choy, or Bok choy as it’s called in the West, by stir-frying it with ginger until stalks are tender but still crisp and leaves are just beginning to wilt.
This miniature Pak choy has the same graceful white petioles and dark green leaves as other varieties, but it grows to only 5” tall. It’s an ideal addition to a home garden and can be grown in containers. Pak choy grows best in mild climates, yet it can tolerate some heat and cold. Normally grows to a mature height of 3.9 inches. Pak Choy and Cabbage that matures in cool weather is deliciously sweet.
Due to how easy it is to grow in a variety of conditions, Toy Choy Chinese cabbage is great for beginner gardeners and those that like low maintenance gardens
The Toy Choy is early and is ready to harvest 30 to 35 after sowing or 2 weeks if the crop is grown from an already established plant..
Good Companions: Bush beans, beet, carrot, celery, cucumber, dill, lettuce, mint, nasturtium, onion family, potato, rosemary, sage, spinach, thyme.
Bad Companions: Pole and snap beans, strawberry.
